Genetics Born in the Field

The history of Pampeana Genetics is deeply connected to the Strobel family's journey in the Brazilian Cerrado, in the
state of Maranhão.
In the early 2000s, the family began producing grains in the region of Mata Roma, Maranhão. Their experience in the
field soon revealed one of the main challenges of this new production environment: the soybean cultivars available at
the time were poorly adapted to local conditions and did not deliver the expected yield potential.
In 2005, seeking greater quality, germination, and vigor in the seeds used on their own farms, the family began
producing and multiplying soybean seeds. However, a greater need remained: finding genetics better adapted to the
realities of the Cerrado.
It was from this challenge that Pampeana Genetics was born in 2007, with the establishment of its own soybean
breeding program.
Since then, the program has focused on selecting and developing cultivars that combine key characteristics for
growers: robustness, stability, and high yield potential.
In 2010, the first proprietary cultivars reached the market. In the following years, the breeding program continued to
evolve, incorporating new technologies, expanding its genetic base, and evaluating its materials across different
production environments.
This expansion allowed Pampeana Genetics to grow beyond its region of origin, developing cultivars capable of
performing under different soil, climate, and production conditions.
More than pursuing productivity under ideal conditions, the essence of the program has always been rooted in the
realities of farming: developing cultivars capable of expressing high yield potential when conditions are favorable
while providing stability when the environment becomes more challenging.
This origin continues to guide Pampeana Genetics today: genetics built in the field, selected under real-world
challenges, and developed for growers who need to produce season after season.
